We have marked up a map on an aerial view of the grounds to show you where we will meet...there's a covered area past the fountain and main building on the left that has been a great meeting point for our last few socials, so those who were there last time...it's the same spot! And remember to wear your MOAA name tags to represent!

There will be live music by Sterling Scott playing in the Pavilion (to the right of the fountain) and they are scheduled to have two food trucks that evening: La Repubilica Tacos and Bulkogi Korean BBQ - so come hungry!

Our chapter always enjoys coming together for business meetings, guest speakers, and social outings — but at the heart of everything we do is our commitment to advocating for and improving the lives of our Veterans.

We’re excited to share a new volunteer opportunity with Vets to Vets United (Veterinarians to Veterans) Vets to Vets a Durham‑based nonprofit that rescues dogs and trains them to become Service Dogs for Veterans .

Their model is remarkable: the Veteran trains alongside the dog, building both skill and companionship, while volunteer veterinarians provide ongoing, reduced‑cost care to ensure each dog stays healthy throughout its service.

Their biggest annual fundraiser, the 5K9 Dog Jog , is coming up on Saturday, September 26, at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary. Our Triangle MOAA chapter will host a table at the event, and we warmly welcome YOU — and any fellow members — to stop by, spend time with us, and help share information about our mission and our chapter. The game is scheduled for Sunday, July 19th at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. First pitch is scheduled for 5:05PM, and the heat won't stop the game from happening and us from enjoying the game in air conditioned comfort! This is a truly unique experience to watch a ball game at one of the nation's premier minor league ball parks! Join us for our annual MOAA Triangle Chapter Scholarship Dinner on Tuesday, May 12th, 2026 at the NC State University Club, 4200 Hillsborough Street, Raleigh.

On this very special evening we will be awarding $1500 scholarships to two very deserving high school seniors bound for college and careers in the military. Our guest speaker for the evening will be CAPT Brian J. Tanaka, USN, Commander, Naval ROTC North Carolina Piedmont Consortium.

Social time will begin at 1730 hours, with dinner served at 1800 hours.

Each year, thousands of history enthusiasts, community-minded citizens, families, Scouts, ROTC units and more come together to help keep our nations heritage preserved and pristine.

Activities can be chosen by each participating site and can include building trails, railing leaves, painting signs, putting up fences and similar projects.

Set Sail for Paradise with MOAA: 6-Day Bermuda Getaway!

A great venue to catch a baseball game and a tasty buffet with drinks. We expect to enjoy the air-conditioned Club experience behind the plate again this summer. Please plan to join us, even if you aren't a fan of baseball!

"Park Day" is an annual opportunity for volunteers to participate in maintaining historic sites across the country. Park Day is this Saturday, April 26th. Only two sites in North Carolina are participating; for those who added this event to your calendar, here are the details:

1. Bentonville Battlefield State Historic Site, 5466 Harper House Road in Four Oaks. Volunteers will meet at the Visitors Center at 9:30 AM and will be doing mostly trail maintenance. For additional information, call 910-594-0789.

2. Stonewall Manor, 1331Stone Wall Lane, Rocky Mount. Volunteers will meet at 9 AM on the front porch of this historic antebellum plantation house and will be helping with both interior and exterior maintenance. For additional information, call 252-314-7407.

Both activities will conclude at 1 PM. If you do participate in one of these activities, we would love to have a picture or two of Chapter members "at work". If feasible, we could put carpools together! Please call me at 919-633-8050.

We urge you to use this opportunity to volunteer a few hours of your time on Saturday, December 14th, to join us in placing wreaths at the gravesites of our military veterans.
